Islamabad United have reached the final twice and won the title both times in PSL.

Islamabad United is the most successful team in the Pakistan Super League history so far. They reached the finals twice and won the title both times in PSL 2016 and 2018. On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators have been pretty consistent as well winning the title once, and being the runners-up twice. They won the trophy first time in PSL 2019. Before this, they reached the finals in two consecutive seasons in 2016 and 2017.

In the last two games held between these sides, both have won one match each. In the PSL 2021 clash, Islamabad registered a six-wicket victory chasing a target of 157 runs in 17 overs. Paul Stirling slammed a magnificent fifty scoring 56 runs off 33 balls.

In the earlier clash in PSL 2020, Quetta won the game by chasing the required 188-run target in 19.4 overs.  Ben Cutting played a quick-fire knock of 42 runs off 17 balls in that match. Naseem Shah and Tymal Mills did well in the bowling department picking up 2 wickets each.
