England pace bowler James Anderson has been ruled out of the team’s Test series in Bangladesh next month after the 34-year-old failed to recover fully from a shoulder injury, according to local media reports. He had already been ruled out of the 1st Test with a stress fracture of the shoulder blade, but the new recovery routine chalked out for him ensures that he will miss at least two more matches.

England’s record Test wicket-taker will resume bowling later this week and may come back into action with two one-day matches for England Lions against a UAE XI on December 1 and 3. Anderson, who is England’s all-time leading test wicket-taker, sustained a stress fracture during the home series against Sri Lanka in June, though he did play three Tests against Pakistan in July and August. England are likely to announce his replacement on Thursday.

England are currently on the tour of Bangladesh where they have already pocketed the ODI series by a 2-1 margin. The Englishmen are currently fighting out the hosts in the 1st Test in Chittagong which began from 20 October. After the conclusion of the Chittagong Test, the visitors will move to Dhaka to play the 2nd and the final Test from 28 October before beginning the tour of India. The challenging tour consists of five tests starting from 9th November.

The ongoing Bangladesh Test is seen as a preparation for the tougher Indian challenge. The Indians, having recently whitewashed New Zealand, are in great form and will be happy to welcome the Brits. The visitors, however, won’t be easy to overcome as they happen to the only team in the past decade to have beaten Indian on the home turf.
