Jasprit Bumrah is India’s bowling superstar at the moment. He is the go-to man for the skipper Virat Kohli across all the formats and more often than not delivers the good for the team. But not many had given him a chance to flourish at the international level when Mumbai Indians (MI) unraveled a player with a unique action during the 2013 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

A 19-year-old started to perform then not only in the cash-rich league but also in the domestic circuit which fast-tracked him in the national side in 2016. Even then, a lot of experts felt that his bowling action will put pressure on his back and Bumrah’s career will be marred with injuries. Yes, he has been injured before but more than that he has managed to play for India featuring in 24 Tests, 67 ODIs and 49 T20Is.

Coming back to his current action, it is very much unique but he manages to generate so much pace with it while als delivering yorkers at will. But not many are aware that Jasprit Bumrah had a very different bowling action during his U19 days. A video of the same has gone viral on social media where he could be seen bowling with a simple action and castling a left-handed batter.

It is not yet known though what prompted the 27-year-old to change his action then but whatever may be the reason, he has been successful so far.

Here’s the video:

Jasprit Bumrah shining for India in England

Currently, Jasprit Bumrah is in England featuring in the fourth of the five-match Test series against the home team. He has been India’s top pacer and as expected, has delivered in almost every game. The pacer is the second highest wicket-taker of the series with 16 scalps to his name so far at an average of 21.75 only behind England’s Ollie Robinson.

With age on his side, Bumrah is set to continue his legacy and end his career as one of the best pacers to have played the sport.
