Haryana off-spinner Jayant Yadav might be just two Test old but he seems to have completely impressed his skipper Virat Kohli. Yadav, who made his debut against New Zealand at Vishakhapatnam in October, has picked up eight wickets and scored one half-century as well. Skipper Kohli feels the 26-year-old bowling all-rounder is a complete package for Team India and a risk-taking bowler who like to play aggressively with the opposition.
“I have been very impressed who, as you said, is only two games old.You can call him an all-rounder now. I haven’t had to tell him anything. He sets his own field, he knows exactly where he wants to bowl.Sometimes I ask mid-on to be back, he urges me to keep it up. He wants the batsmen to go after him,” said Kohli.
Jayant is currently on-field playing his third test of his career as India take on England in the 4th Test at the Wankhede Stadium Mumbai. India currently leads the series 2-0 fatre winning at Vizag and Mohali.
The ongoing test is about surviving in the series for England. And, they seem to have begun very well putting up 117/1 in the opening session. Cook won his second toss in a row and for the third in the series and opted to bat first on an even looking pitch which had a tinge of grass on it. Cook with his new opening partner, the 24-year-old Keaton Jennings, successfully thwarted the Indians to add 99 runs for the first wicket and help their team register their best opening session so far in the Test series.
Both the teams announced a few changes in the playing XI with injury issues troubling both the party. England is without Stuart Broad to a foot injury which he sustained three weeks ago, and have named Jake Ball as his replacement. India also came in without Mohammad Shami as he failed to recover from his sore knee. This gave swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar an opportunity for a comeback.
