England captain Joe Root has revealed the England squad that will lock horns against the West Indies at home for the third and the final test at Lords. The series is currently leveled at one a piece and the final one is up for grabs. The final encounter will kick off on the 7th of September.

Details:

The English squad remains pretty much the same as the Headingley one, barring a single change. Chris Woakes who replaces Toby Roland-Jones for the 2nd Test has been dropped only to make way for Jones. Jones, who represents Middlesex as far as county cricket is concerned, took 14 wickets in 3 Tests this summer. He also put up a sensational debut performance where he picked up 5 wickets for 57 runs in the first innings of the first Test.

The England team that will be facing Jason Holder and his men in the Third Test include Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Dawid Malan, Toby Roland Jones, Dawid Malan, Tom Westley, Mark Stoneman and Jonathan Bairstow.

Team England won the first Test at Oval comprehensively. The West Indies lost that test by an innings losing a colossal 19 wickets on a single day. The team was hit with immense criticism from fans and pundits all over the world. However, Stuart Law’s West Indies made a stunning comeback at Headingley to level the series 1-1. The second Test was marked by massive guts and character by the West Indies which saw them chase down a total of 322 successfully in the second innings. Shai Hope bagged the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performances with the bat in both the innings. The right hander slammed twin centuries in the match and was brilliantly supported by Kraigg Brathwaite who scored a single century and missed the second one by a whisker.

The England XI:

Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Dawid Malan, Toby Roland Jones, Dawid Malan, Tom Westley, Mark Stoneman, Jonathan Bairstow.
