Jofra Archer was one of the biggest revelations of Big Bash League this year. With his stupendous performances in the BBL, Jofra is creating a huge name for himself around the world. His terrific performances also landed him up with an IPL contract. He was picked by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 7.2 crores in the IPL auction. Also, the 22-year old decided to pull out of the Hong Kong T20 Blitz earlier. He has amazed everyone with the skill he possesses and also garnered praise from the bowling great Dale Steyn.

Jofra is now all set to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League. The 22-year-old was picked by the Quetta Gladiators, who made it to the finals of the league in both the previous two editions. He was earlier signed by the Sussex County team in 2016. He finished the County Championship season as their leading wicket-taker in Division Two before he shot up to fame.

Jofra Archer replaces his West Indian counterpart

Jofra Archer will replace Carlos Brathwaite who opted out to play for West Indies in the World Cup Qualifiers in March. However, he will not feature during the entire duration of the tournament and will play only a few matches.  “Archer will play in some matches of the PSL because of his other commitments,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said. Earlier, Archer also decided to pull out of the Hong Kong T20 Blitz due to personal reasons.

Jofra Archer played a crucial part in helping Hobart Hurricanes reach the finals of the recently concluded Big Bash League. He ended as the joint second-highest wicket taker picking 16 wickets at an average of 23.06 in the 12 games he played. However, his team lost to the Adelaide Strikers in the finals. Jofra is also very handy in the field and has stunned everyone with his abilities.

The third season of the Pakistan Super League will start in Dubai from February 22 and the finals will be played in Pakistan on March 25. The event will feature six teams participating this time.
