England are currently fighting it out to save the ongoing third Test match against India. They are set a mammoth total of 521 runs to chase in the fourth innings and it is about when the visitors will pick their wickets. Also, it will take a huge effort from them to save the Test match. They were also dealt with a huge blow as Jonny Bairstow‘s left middle finger was fractured in the first session. There were also questions on his participation further in the game.

While speaking to Sky Sports, Bairstow stressed that he will come out to bat with an injured finger if required on the fourth day of the Test match. Though there is a chance that his injury might get worse as Paul Farbrace stated after the play on Monday. But it remains to be seen if he will be able to bat as he was seen batting in the nets on the fourth morning.

England struggling again

England, on the fourth morning, wanted their batters to put up a resilient show. But the start was poor for them once again as Ishant Sharma struck in the very first over to send back the struggling Keaton Jennings. The norm followed then as even Joe Root didn’t look comfortable in the middle. There was sustained pressure on them thanks to the relentless bowling from the Indian pace trio.

At Lunch, the hosts were struggling at 84/4 and it is only a matter of time now that India wraps the game easily in the second session itself. The fact that Jos Buttler is still batting is due to Rishabh Pant’s drop catch. Ben Stokes is also fighting it out in the middle along with him and they will hope to delay the inevitable.

However, they will again have to Ravi Ashwin who is also getting some turn on a pitch which has worn out now. It will be interesting to see if the visitors will finish the game before tea.
