Indian middle order batsman Kedar Jadhav’s sudden rise in the international ranks has forced him to hire an assistant and a bouncer. According to a Mid-day report, Jadhav has to now check with his bouncers if it is safe to visit a particular joint. The right-handed batsman has found a liking for nonveg food of late after turning into a nonvegetarian couple of years back.

“My parents had promised God that if they get a son, they’d turn vegetarian. So, I’ve always been a pure vegetarian. But I realised, despite working hard, I was struggling to maintain my fitness level. So I told my father that for my cricket, I needed to start eating meat. He agreed, and I’ve added chicken, fish, lamb to my diet since.” Jadhav said at a felicitation function in Pune recently.

The ODI series against England was the turning point of his cricketing career. Jadhav, who made his international debut at the age of 29, scored 232 runs against England in the ODI series at an average of 77.33. Batting at No.6, he along with Indian skipper Virat Kohli guided India to a successful run-chase during the 1st ODI in Pune.

He also struck a fighting 90 in the final game of the ODI series, which England won after the in-form batter was dismissed in the last over. Jadhav was awarded the man of the series for his sparkling form.
