KL Rahul’s career has flourished post India’s exit from the 2019 World Cup. Over the past few months, the Karnataka batsman has been successful in cementing his place in the national side. Apart from delivering consistent performances with his bat, the right-hander has been impressive while donning the wicketkeeping gloves too. Moreover, his ability to shuffle himself and play at any batting position has strengthened his place in the Indian side.
Rahul has been one of the few Indians who have centuries in all formats of the game. Along with flaunting his batting expertise, Rahul has also proved his mettle behind the gloves. Be it exemplary batting or agile wicketkeeping– Rahul hit the purple patch at the right moment and gained many accolades for his performances.
Rahul was set to lead Kings XI Punjab in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, due to the postponement of the tournament due to COVID-19 outbreak, he has been spending his quarantine time at home. He has uploaded a few clips while working out indoors amid the lockdown. To kill his idle time during the lockdown, Rahul– like many other cricketers– conducted a Twitter Q&A session where he answered many questions from fans.
When he was asked which is the toughest bowler to keep, Rahul chose Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah’s name. “Absolutely enjoying wicketkeeping. The toughest bowler to keep to is @Jaspritbumrah93,” Rahul said during the Q&A session.

KL Rahul also revealed his favourite IPL moment
Rahul started keeping wickets from the limited-overs home series against Australia and later went on to don the gloves also during New Zealand tour. So far, Rahul has donned the Indian jersey in 36 Tests, 32 ODIs and 42 T20Is.
During the Q&A session, Rahul also spilt the beans over his favourite IPL moment. According to the Karnataka player, the 2016 IPL with the Royal Challengers Bangalore was a “career-defining season” for him.
“It’s got to be the 2016 season with RCB which was a career-defining season for me as people saw the potential in me in white ball cricket,” said Rahul.

He also lauded Chris Gayle and termed him as a ‘smart’ cricketer. “As a batting partner, he is amazing. I met @henrygayle first when I was with RCB. The best conversations I had with Chris are on the pitch. He is a smart cricketer and plans his game lot. He is great to have in the team and is very friendly with youngsters as well,” said Rahul.
