Kohli backs his fast bowlers, reasons why India is doing well on away tours: Varun Aaron

There’s always been a perception that India is the land of spinners. And to absolutely justify the perception, Indian spinners have done exceptionally well for the country in the past. Indian fast bowlers have been sensational in India’s current success in all the three formats of the game. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma have worked hard and with their consistent quick and pacy spells have troubled the opponents.

With the ability to bowl fast and hostile spells, Varun Aaron was one such bowler who made headlines for his raw pace. Aaron made his debut for India in 2013 against West Indies in Mumbai but just after 9 Tests, the right-arm-pacer doesn’t seem to get an opportunity to get into the Indian side anytime soon. Apart from poor outings, consistent injuries didn’t do any good for the Jharkhand-born bowler.

Tough to make a comeback: Aaron

While speaking to Cricketnext, the 29-year-old said that It is very difficult to make a comeback in the national squad. The bowler mentioned how he has managed to play non-stop domestic cricket without getting injured. “It’s tough to make a comeback to the national side. I have almost played a full domestic season after a long time which I was really looking forward to. I played the whole Ranji season, then Syed Mushtaq Ali, and now the Vijay Hazare Trophy. A lot of questions used to be raised if I would last the whole season.I have put that to rest now. So there is no concern over my fitness now,” Aaron told Cricketnext.

Talking about competition among the players to get into the side Aaron said that competition never bothered him. He mentioned that all the bowlers are friend with each other and whoever bowls well will get into the side.

Kohli’s backing helping the pacers on away tours

Aaron spoke highly of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and felt that Indian skipper’s backing has the fast bowlers a lot. According to Aaron, the current crop of bowlers are doing very good which is a good sign for the team.

“You saw how the Indian pacers bowled in the last series. The conditions were good and the pacers delivered. That is because Virat supports the pacers well. He loves backing his fast bowlers and that’s why India is doing so well on away tours too,” the bowler said while speaking to Cricketnext.
