Pakistan crashed out of the 2016 edition of the World T20 with a disappointing 21-run loss at the hands of Australia. While this could well be skipper Shahid Afridi’s final appearance in a Pakistan shirt, the 36-year old had a few good things to say about Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli.

It is no secret that Virat Kohli has been the man to take India home on many an occasion. Especially during a chase, the 27-year old can be lethal with some mature batting. Shahid Afridi was quick to point out that the Indian Test match skipper has become ‘The Wall’ within the Indian team. While Afridi pointed out that Sachin Tendulkar filled in that role earlier, he said that Kohli is nothing out a revelation having been put in such a role.

“Virat Kohli is becoming like a wall in the Indian team. Earlier, it used to be Sachin Tendulkar who won matches for India and now it is Kohli who is playing that role,” Afridi said after Pakistan lost to Australia by 21 runs to crash out of the World Twenty20 here.

Reflecting on the 21-run loss, a disappointed Shahid Afridi conceded that his men just weren’t good enough on the day. He also pin-pointed out that the bowling failed to live up to the standards they had set previously in the tournament.

“Honestly, we were not good enough. We had problems in batting. Our bowlers were doing well but in the last four overs, we gave away 40 runs. That is not not good bowling and we cannot do that against a team like Australia,” he said.
