Former Australian cricketer and a seasoned commentator, Dean Jones, recently disclosed the name of his favorite cricketer. Jones looked in total awe of the Indian captain Virat Kohli. He was very honest in quoting that Virat Kohli is his favorite cricketer. He went on to quote that Kohli has replaced Virender Sehwag from the list of his favorite cricketers.

The kind of form that Virat Kohli has shown in the recent times only speaks volumes about his talent. His rampaging form has been evident across the three formats of the game. Needless to cite why he is drawing praises from all corners.

He is the only player to average over 50 in all the three formats of the game. Recently, he hit his fifth double ton in Test cricket. Dean Jones, in a conversation with NDTV, mentioned that Kohli will do a fine job in South Africa. He believes that head coach Ravi Shastri brings the best out of him.

“Virat Kohli is my favourite player and he has taken over from Virender Sehwag. I love his aggression and belief to score runs on any pitch and Ravi Shastri brings the best out of Kohli as well. I’m expecting Virat to do a good job in South Africa,” quoted Dean Jones.

On India’s chances in South Africa

Speaking on India’s chances in the upcoming South African tour, Dean Jones remarked that the key for the Indian team would be their bowling attack. He had special words of praises for Mohammad Shami. Also, he feels that R Ashwin could be a valuable member in the Indian lineup.

“Bowling is India’s key and they have got really good pace attack. I love (Mohammad) Shami, I love (the way) he goes about his bowling. Ashwin too will lead the spin attack,” conceded the former Australian cricketer.
