KPL 2015: Players to go under the hammer on 25th July:

The bidding and buying of players for the fourth edition of the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) will take place on 25 of this month. The auction is scheduled to take place at the KSCA will include a total of 8 teams which is an addition of two from the previous season. The retained players include marquee names like Vinay Kumar, Manish Pandey, Srinath Arvind and KL Rahul. There are two pools A and B from which the teams can choose players they want to be a part of their dugouts. Each franchise is entitled to a purse of Rs. 20,00,000 before retention of players.

Figures given are balance available (are maximum) after retention and values of players (except for D Nischal and K.C. Cariappa) are as of last year which will prevail. Nischal and Cariappa have been moved into pool A this year from last year’s pool B  and will be paid base price of Rs 50,000.

Note: It is binding and mandatory for each franchise to pick two players from their catchment area in the auction. In the event of that not happening, franchisees who haven’t bought catchment players will have to reserve Rs. 20,000 (10,000 each) for catchment players they take otherwise. Money not used up in pool A kitty will be added to pool B
