Match Details:

The match starts at 3:00 PM local time (IST) (9:30 AM GMT).

Preview:

The defending champions Bijapur Bulls have been playing some good cricket without any reward. Their first game ended in a Tie on VJD method while in the next three matches, they managed to win only one game. They hope to cash in the form of their top-order and convert it into wins from here on. They will face Belagavi Panthers on Monday afternoon in their first game of the season in Mysore.

The Belagavi Panthers were boosted by the presence of Manish Pandey in the previous three matches. The Indian international scored 213 runs without getting dismissed as Panthers won two of them. With five points from as many matches, the Belagavi team are placed at No.3 in the points table. On Sunday, they thumped Shivamogga Lions by chasing down a target of 176 in only 14.4 overs.

Weather Condition/Report:

KPL shifts from Bangalore to Mysore but the threat of rain doesn’t. There was delayed start for the first game on Sunday which could be a common scene. However, compared to that of Bangalore, the chances of raining is quite less during the match timings.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Both the matches played in Mysore on Sunday witnessed comfortable chases of 150+. Manish Pandey talked about how good the track and the possibility of chasing even 200+. Another high-scoring game to be played in the afternoon is expected on Monday.

Average first innings score: 163 (KPL matches in 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 0

Top Picks:

Stalin Hoover’s hard-hitting skill was at the display on Sunday as he struck the 2nd fastest century in KPL history. His opening partner Ravikumar Samarth has one of the best batting records in KPL history. However, his recent form has turned to be worrisome for him himself and also for the team.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Captain – Bharath Chipli, Rajoo Bhatkal, Mir Kaunian Abbas

Vice-captain – Naveen MG, Avinash D, Shubhang Hegde

Bharath Chipli and Rajoo Bhatkal seem to be the best and safest options to be made captain or vice-captain. Both the Bijapur batsmen have scored big runs this season.

Suggested Playing XI for Head to Head/Small Leagues:

Keeper – Ritesh Bhatkal

Batsmen – Mir Kaunian Abbas, Bharath Chipli (C), Rajoo Bhatkal

Expert Advice:

Manish Pandey did hint about missing the remainder of the tournament at the post-match presentation. He will lead India A in the unofficial ODI series starting from 29th. There are quite a few players in the Duleep Trophy who are part of the series against South Africa A.

They will leave after completion of the game on Monday. Hence, there is an outside chance of Pandey playing one last time in this KPL. Do pick Manish if he plays this match in place of Kaunian Abbas or at the cost of a bowler or all-rounder.

Probable Winners:

Belagavi Panthers are expected defeat Bijapur Bulls.
