Team India won the three-match T20I series against England by gunning down the total of 199 runs in Bristol on Sunday. Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were the star for them as the visitors seamlessly owned the match in the conditions alien to them. Krunal Pandya, who had earned a maiden call-up to the national side was thrilled after the victory and bid adieu to the team after sharing the dressing room with the stalwarts of Indian cricket.

He was included in the T20I squad at the eleventh hour after the preferred off-spinner Washington Sundar was ruled out due to the foot injury ahead of the series. Krunal was with India A at the same time in the UK playing the tri-series also involving Windies A and England Lions. The selectors had an eye on his clinical performances in the series and he has already been doing well for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Krunal Pandya didn’t get any game to play as the series went down to the wire. Though his India A teammate Deepak Chahar was handed a debut in the decider, the left-arm spinner couldn’t make a place for himself in the XI courtesy of the wrist-spinners India had in their line-up.

But the experience of spending some valuable time in the dressing room should hold him in good stead in the near future. Even he believed the same in his goodbye tweet after winning the series last night and was blessed to be in the Indian dressing room for the first time.

“What a win tonight! @ImRo45 and @hardikpandya7, take a bow. All the best for the rest of the tournament. It was wonderful sharing the dressing room, being with and around the stalwarts of the game. Will see you all soon. #ChampionTeam,” his tweet read.

Moreover, he was extremely pleased with the fact that his younger brother Hardik played a crucial role in the game. The pace bowling all-rounder went on to pick 4 wickets with the bowl and then went o play an unbeaten knock of 33 runs off just 14 balls to end the game in a jiffy.
