Former England international Michael Vaughan seems unhappy with the decision of Kumble’s stepping down as the Indian head coach. The right-handed batsman took to his Twitter handle to express his views on the decision.

The active commentator said that this would be an enormous loss to Indian cricket and a losing a man of Kumble’s standards would be costly for the nation. The 42-year-old also hoped for Kumble’s attachment to the game of cricket in any role he wishes to play.

“India are losing a Great man in @anilkumble1074 … realty hope he stays in some role …. far too good a bloke to lose … #India,” read Vaughan’s tweet.

It was not only Michael Vaughan who made his views on the situation public on Twitter today. Former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi was the other one who had a similar take on the scenario. The left arm orthodox bowler pointed out that Kumble has nothing to lose but the loser will definitely be Indian cricket. His tweet was also directed to the Indian cricketers who voted for a new face, especially Virat Kohli.

He tweeted “”Gratitude has obviously been thrown out of the window by whoever raising ‘revolt’ against India’s giant @anilkumble1074! Loser’s Indian Cricket of course!”

Akash Chopra thinks that the Kohli-Kumble saga could have been handled in a better way. “It (the coach selection process) should have been done after the home season and not just before the Champions Trophy. It could have been handled better but that is how the cookie has crumbled,” said Akash.

Recap:

Complications between skipper Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble arose during the recently concluded Champions Trophy. According to reports Kohli was not happy with the leg spinner’s way of managing the players and turned against him. Anil Kumble handed over his resignation to the Cricket Advisory Committee after the Indian team flew to the Caribbean for a five-match ODI series.
