The former Indian captain MS Dhoni interacted with the students in his visit to Srinagar on Wednesday and motivated them. The former captain of the Indian team is currently enjoying the break after playing back to back limited overs series against Australia and New Zealand in the last couple of months. However, he also emphasised the importance of studies and sports in his freewheeling chat with the children.

This is not the first time when the lad from Ranchi has took his time out and travelled to Srinagar as he had previously gone there for a three-day trip back in 2012. He was conferred with the honorary Lt Colonel rank in 2011 and had also spent some time with the soldiers at the Line of Control (LOC). He had also expressed his desire to serve the Indian army after retiring from International cricket.

Mahi donned army uniform

MS Dhoni during his visit to the school donned the army uniform and posed for the photographs with the students and the faculty. The official twitter account of Chinar Corps revealed the news of the 36-year-old interacting with the students and posted few images. “Lt Col (Hony) Mahendra Singh #Dhoni interacting with the enthusiastic children of #APS #Srinagar; emphasised upon importance of #studies and #sports @adgpi @NorthernComd_IA @msdhoni.”

The next assignment for Dhoni is the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which will commence on December 10. Three T20 Internationals also follow before the Test side will embark on their tour to South Africa in January. The career of the veteran in the shortest format has been the talking point in the last few weeks after he struggled to score runs during the series against New Zealand.
