List of India-Pakistan tournament finals

India and Pakistan made it to the semi-finals after winning their respective final league games of the Champions Trophy 2017 which was a must win for both the teams. Pakistan are set to face England while Indian team will be taking on Bangladesh in the semi-finals as fans from the either side of the border will be hoping for yet another Indo-Pak battle that too in the final.

Way back in the 1990s, India and Pakistan faced off in the tournament finals regularly but the lack of ODI tournaments off late has ensured that the two teams have not played a final since 2008. The fans would except a Javed Miandad last ball six or Misbah-ul-Haq’s scoop that landed in S Sreesanth’s hand if it’s an Indo-Pak final.

So far both the team have met in 9 tournament finals out of which 7 were played by 1999 and only twice since then. If the team’s set up a final meeting; it will be only the 2nd occasion of both teams meeting in an ICC event final. Both teams featured in the inaugural edition of  World T20 in 2007 where the Men in Blue got the better of Pakistan by only 5 runs.

Talking about the overall head to head in tournament finals, Pakistan are way ahead of India as they have won 6 tournaments out of the 9 in which both teams faced off in the conclusive match. India managed to win only 3 titles which include the Silver Jubilee Independence Cup in 1998 which had a best of 3 finals and the Indian team won it 2-1. Overall in the 11 finals, both the teams played, Pakistan leads with 7 wins while India are reeling with 4.
