Win Prediction
Bangladesh (BAN) will face Hong Kong (HK) in the third match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Thursday, September 11, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. It will be the second game between the two teams. In the first match, Hong Kong defeated Bangladesh by two wickets after chasing down the target of 109 runs in 19.4 overs during the 2014 T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh first played in the Asia Cup in 1984 and have appeared in 15 editions, finishing as runners-up three times (2012, 2016, and 2018). This year, they have won 7 and lost 7 T20Is. The team had a poor start with defeats against the UAE and Pakistan but later bounced back with wins over Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. Currently, they are ranked 10th in the ICC standings.
Hong Kong faced Afghanistan in their first game in the tournament. Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat. Powered by Sediqullah Atal’s 73 runs off 52 deliveries and Azmatullah Omarzai’s quick 53 off 21, Afghanistan scored 188 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. For Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and Kinchit Shah took two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Hong Kong were restricted to 94 runs for the loss of nine wickets and lost by 94 runs. Only two batters reached double figures, with Babar Hayat top-scoring with 39 runs off 43 deliveries. For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Gulbadin Naib took two wickets each, while Omarzai claimed one and was named Player of the Match.
