Dindigul Dragons (DD) will face Trichy Grand Cholas (TGC) in the eliminator game of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 on Wednesday, July 2, at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. The Dragons finished in third place with four wins in seven games. The Grand Cholas won three out of seven matches and were in fourth position. Both teams have faced each other on three occasions since 2023. The Dragons won the first two matches, while the Grand Cholas registered their first victory in this edition of the tournament.
The Dragons faced the Grand Cholas in their last outing and elected to bat after winning the toss. Vimal Khumar’s unbeaten 55 runs off 37 deliveries helped the team reach a total of 150 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Athisayaraj Davidson and Saravana Kumar took two wickets each for the Grand Cholas.
The Grand Cholas struggled initially and lost four wickets for just 24 runs. A partnership of 98 runs between Jagatheesan Kousik and Sanjay Yadav helped the team bounce back. Kousik scored 42 runs off 35 deliveries, while Sanjay made an unbeaten 55 runs off 45 deliveries. The Grand Cholas took 19.3 overs to win the match with four wickets in hand. Sasidharan Ravichandran and Ganeshan Periyaswamy picked up two wickets each for the Dragons. Sanjay won the Player of the Match award for his batting performance.
