The Indian openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, added 105 runs for the first wicket. It was India’s highest opening partnership against Pakistan in T20Is. India took 18.5 overs to win the match by six wickets.
Bangladesh took on Sri Lanka in their previous outing and elected to bowl after winning the toss. Sri Lanka made 168 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh and took three wickets for 20 runs in four overs. The match went down to the last over, and Bangladesh required five runs to win. Jaker Ali hit a boundary off the first delivery, and the scores were levelled. Bangladesh lost two wickets on the next three deliveries, and Nasum Ahmed took a single off the fifth delivery to help Bangladesh cross the line. Bangladesh won the match by four wickets.
