Jitesh Sharma | Player of the Match:

I’m honestly at a loss for words! It’s hard to believe I played that kind of knock. When Virat bhai got out, my only thought was to take the match deep. As my mentor and guide, Dinesh [Karthik] anna always says—just take it deep.

I started cramping up because I was shouldering most of the load! I’ve got the likes of Virat bhai, Krunal bhai, and Bhuvi bhai around me—it’s a great feeling to be sharing the field with them. We’re trying to stay in the moment, but we’ll also focus on proper recovery.

The aim is to carry this momentum forward into our next fixture. Full credit to Rajat as well—I had the responsibility of maintaining his standard. Hazlewood will likely be back for the knockout match. We’ve built a strong belief system within the team. If you look at our XI, you’ll see we’ve got genuine match-winners across the board.

Mayank Agarwal:

There wasn’t much to say out there. My main job was just to rotate the strike and let Jitesh take over. He simply put on a spectacular show—there really aren’t enough words to describe what he pulled off. We were making quick calculations and knew that Digvesh had an over left, so our plan was to get at least 10 runs off that one. The pitch was good for going after the pacers, and Jitesh executed that perfectly. Performances like these build belief and momentum... something we couldn’t quite manage in the previous match.

When I came to the crease, we’d lost two wickets in quick succession. Thankfully, Virat and I managed to score at a brisk pace during that phase. After that, the idea was for at least one batter to bat deep. I’m happy we were able to take the game away from them.

Rishabh Pant:

At the end of the day, you’ve got to play solid cricket for the full 40 overs. Just doing well in 20 overs isn’t going to be enough. Personally, I’ve been feeling better with every game, but sometimes things don’t go the way you expect. Whenever you get a start, the key is to convert it into something substantial.

I was trying to read the field and anticipate the bowling strategy—focused on playing straight through the line. I maintained the same level of intensity all throughout my innings. There are quite a few areas we need to discuss and work on, but with the season coming to a close, I just want to switch off for a while.

That said, our batting group has shown real promise, and there have been some outstanding individual bowling efforts too. We’ve had our chances, but the inability to sustain pressure is what’s ultimately costing us games.
