Abhishek Sharma | Player of the Match:
I had a word with him after the match — everything’s fine now. If we were batting first, my approach might have been different, but while chasing such a big total, our plan was clear. When you're playing well and chasing over 200, the key is to dominate the powerplay. I just wanted to play freely, and I believe if I perform, the team will benefit too. That’s the same mindset I carried into international cricket — just stay expressive and rotate the strike.
Pat Cummins | SRH Captain:
We probably gave away more runs than we would have liked. It’s a good pitch, but we backed ourselves to chase it down. Eshan Malinga has been a fantastic addition and a major strength for us. His consistency and accuracy have stood out. Sometimes, when players are in top form, it hardly feels like they’re taking risks. We know we’re a solid unit when we bring our A-game. Still, there are a few takeaways for us to work on.
Rishabh Pant | LSG Captain:
This could’ve been one of our best seasons, but we came in with quite a few gaps and injury setbacks. As a team, we chose not to focus on that, though it did make it harder to fill those spots. Our auction plans were solid, and if our bowling unit had stayed intact, things might have looked different — but that’s how cricket goes. Sometimes things click, sometimes they don’t. We’re proud of our efforts and prefer to focus on the positives. Our batting lineup has plenty of firepower, and that’s been a major takeaway. Even our bowlers hit the right lengths at times, though they lacked consistency. We knew we were about 10 runs short today as the pitch played well. As I mentioned earlier, we’ve had good phases but couldn’t capitalize when the momentum shifted in our favor. The first half of the season went well, but the latter half got progressively tougher, and we struggled to keep pace with the top teams. One bright spot has been Rathi — it’s his debut season, and he’s bowled impressively. But it’s important to keep growing and getting stronger with every season.
