Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in the fifth match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 on Thursday, September 25, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The team that wins this match will qualify for the final. Pakistan has won 20 out of 25 T20I matches against Bangladesh. One of these five wins for Bangladesh came during the Asia Cup 2016.
Pakistan faced Sri Lanka in their previous match and elected to bowl after winning the toss. Sri Lanka finished with 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets on the board. Shaheen Afridi dominated with the ball and took three wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman added 45 runs for the first wicket before Farhan was dismissed in the sixth over. Pakistan lost the next three wickets for just 12 runs. A 58-run partnership between Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz helped Pakistan cross the line with five wickets in hand.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl in their previous match against India. India posted a total of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets. Rishad Hossain was the pick of the bowlers and took two wickets for 27 runs in three overs. Bangladesh were bundled out for 127 runs in 19.3 overs and lost the match by 41 runs. Saif Hassan was the highest scorer for the team and made 69 runs off 51 deliveries. Only one other batter made a double-digit score.
