Pakistan (PAK) will take on Sri Lanka (SL) in the third match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 on Tuesday, September 23, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both teams suffered a loss in their first outing in the Super Four. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have played a total of 23 T20I games so far. Sri Lanka has won 10 out of these 23 matches, while Pakistan has won the remaining 13 games.

Pakistan faced India in their last match and scored 171 runs for the loss of five wickets. Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer and made 58 runs off 45 deliveries. Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz made 21 runs each, while Faheem Ashraf played a knock of 20 runs off eight deliveries. This collective batting effort helped Pakistan post their highest total against India in T20Is while batting first. India chased down the target of 173 runs in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand. Haris Rauf was the most successful bowler for the team and took two wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

Sri Lanka was up against Bangladesh in their first outing in the Super Four. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. Sri Lanka posted a total of 168 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Before this game, Sri Lanka had won five out of eight matches after posting a total of more than 150 runs while batting first. Dasun Shanaka, the former Sri Lankan skipper, was the highest scorer for the team and remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 37 deliveries. It was his first half-century in T20Is after 21 innings. Bangladesh took the match to the last over, bowled by Shanaka and needed five runs to win.  Jaker Ali hit a boundary off the first delivery, but Bangladesh lost two wickets in the next three deliveries. Nasum Ahmed took a single off the fifth delivery and helped Bangladesh win the match.
