Zimbabwe (ZIM) will face New Zealand (NZ) in the third match of the Tri-Series on Friday, July 18, at the Harare Sports Club. It will be the first game between the two teams in the series. New Zealand faced South Africa in their first game and scored 173 runs for the loss of five wickets. Tim Robinson was the highest scorer for the team and remained unbeaten on 75 runs off 57 deliveries. In reply, South Africa were bundled out for 152 and New Zealand won the match by 21 runs. Matt Henry and Jacob Duffy were the pick of the bowlers for the Blackcaps and took three wickets each.
Zimbabwe also faced the Proteas in their previous outing, where South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl. Sikandar Raza remained unbeaten 54 runs off 38 deliveries and led the team to a total of 141 runs for the loss of six wickets. South Africa reached the target of 142 runs in 15.5 overs with five wickets in hand. Richard Ngarava was the most successful bowler for Zimbabwe and took three wickets for 35 runs in four overs.
Zimbabwe and New Zealand have faced each other in six T20I matches so far. New Zealand have won all six matches. It is the first time New Zealand and Zimbabwe will face each other in a T20I game since 2015.
