An oil company, on Monday, appointed former Indian team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the “CEO of the day” and posted a picture of the world cup winning captain seating on the CEO’s chair on the firm’s twitter account.

Dhoni was looking charming as ever in a blue suit, white shirt and a tie as the big hitter took charge of the Gulf Oil India company at their head office in Mumbai. Dhoni has been associated with the firm as their brand ambassador since the year 2011.

The news of Dhoni taking charge of the office was kept a secret and was even unknown to the employees of the office until the 35-year-old walked into the office. Dhoni, who is worshipped all over India was very active in his new role as he attended meetings and took some important decisions as well.

Arun Pandey, Dhoni’s close friend and commercial interests manager of the company said that the special day was on their minds and they had been discussing their plans with the cricketer for a long time.

Arun Pandey quoted the Sportstar “As a CEO of the company for the day, Mahi has attended all the special meetings of the company. He will also take quite a few decisions, just like a real CEO”

According to the manager, Dhoni was quite eager to learn about the post of a CEO and wanted to try that out himself.

“Mahi’s association with the company goes back a long way, and for a long time, he also wanted to understand how a corporate CEO works. He wanted to try this out too.”

Dhoni is a part of the Rising Pune Super Giant and the decision by the franchise to replace Dhoni with Steve Smith as the captain for the upcoming season came as a shock to many. The Rising Pune Super Giant plays their first match against the Mumbai Indians at home on April 6th.
