Manish Pandey commends Robin Uthappa for his match-winning knock

In a recent release of a video from iplt20.com, Manish Pandey was seen interviewing the man of the match Robin Uthappa post their victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey were involved in a partnership which stabilised the innings of the KKR after their new found pair of Gautam Gambhir and Sunil Narine failed to give an effective start to the innings.

Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa joined hands with KKR struggling at 40-2 before the end of the powerplays. They stitched a vital partnership of 77 runs, which laid a platform for the likes of Pathan and co. to accelerate during the death overs. Uthappa scored a match-winning 68 off 39 balls at a strike rate of 174.38, which dazzled with 4 sixes and five boundaries. He was ably supported by his Karnataka teammate Manish Pandey who went on to score 46 off 35 deliveries, scoring three fours and a couple of sixes.

On being asked about the rub of green he carried during the innings, Uthappa replied that he was glad that he got one decision in his favour as he had been on the receiving end of the umpiring errors on 5-6 occasions previously this season.

“I am happy that one decision went my way considering a few went against me earlier. I wanted one good inning under my belt and I am happy that I could get runs against SRH” said an elated Uthappa. Manish Pandey also went to state that it was a privilege to bat with Uthappa everywhere for the past ten years. The duo from Karnataka also commended the efforts of Kuldeep Yadav this season. They went on to state that the chinaman appears more mature than his age.

“He is turning out to be an exciting bowler and is one to look forward to the future. He has a firm head on his shoulders and will go a long way,” they concluded.

With the win against Sunrisers, Kolkata has continued their undefeated streak at their home ground versus the Hyderabad-based team, which is the most by any team against a single opposition.
