Mashrafe Mortaza taken to hospital after coughing up blood

Team Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was recently taken to the hospital on Saturday morning. Mortaza, who has had a great time on the field in the recent times, apparently had coughed up blood in the morning. This created a minor scare for him and his relatives. He was soon taken to the hospital for a routine check up. As per the reports in the bdcrictime.com, Mashrafe Mortaza has not been feeling well for the last few days.

Hence, the check up was on the cards for him anyway. However, the coughing up of blood only accelerated the check up day and timings. At the hospital, it was known that the blood was coming out with his cough. The fans and his relatives had started getting worried. But the official doctor of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Mr. Debashish Chowdhhury, informed the media that there was nothing to worry.

He was quick to make his assessment and gave his update on the condition of Mashrafe Mortaza soon. He conceded that there is nothing serious and hence there is no need for Mortaza to get hospitalized at the moment.

“There is nothing serious happened to Mashrafe. He coughed up some blood in the morning and that’s why he went to hospital for checkup. His lungs has been checked and everything is fine now. He won’t have to be admitted in hospital,” quoted the BCB doctor.

On field stories

Talking about the on-field times for Mashrafe in the recent past, the ODI skipper had a terrific time in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 this year. He led the team Bangladesh to the semi-finals of the tournament. Currently, the Bangladeshi team is preparing for their upcoming Test series assignment against Australia. They are scheduled to host the Aussies for a two-Test match series. Mortaza, who has retired from the longest format of the game, will not be a part of the series. Mushfiqur Rahim will be leading the Bangladeshi side.
