The Virat Kohli-led Indian team has been on a role on their tour of Australia. After levelling the T20I series, they are currently leading the four-match tussle in Tests and are being tipped as the favourites to win it as well. However, before the start of the Boxing Day Test, not many gave them the chance after the way they were humbled in Perth. Even the former England cricketer Michael Vaughan had predicted Australian victory before leaving the country on the Christmas Eve.

Though the visitors proved everyone wrong and literally put up a thoroughly dominating performance at the MCG. While they were brave enough to field two new openers for the crunch game, their best batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli stepped up to the plate to post a huge total on the board. The bowlers then did their job to the perfection by skittling the opposition twice.

Here’s what Vaughan had earlier tweeted:

Jasprit Bumrah was the leader of the attack picking nine wickets across both the innings conceding only 86 runs while the other pacers also supported well. Ravindra Jadeja also performed his job by snaffling a couple thanks to his accurate bowling.

Fan reminds Vaughan of his prediction

Very rarely does a mistake or blunder goes missing these days on social media. One of the Indian fans was quick to pounce on Michael Vaughan over his prediction before the start of the game and the former England skipper was kind enough to admit his mistake and conceded that India played some exceptional cricket over the last five days.

He also termed Pujara and Bumrah as wonderful cricketers while pointing out that the current Australian batsmen cannot withstand pressure and their technique is extremely poor. “I got it wrong … India produced a magnificent performance … High class team … @cheteshwar1 & @Jaspritbumrah93 are wonderful cricketers & people … The Aussies can’t cope with being put under Pressure .. Batting is very very poor … #AUSvIND,” he said.
