The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is slowly beginning to gather steam. With 14 games already done and dusted with, there’s tremendous excitement bubbling away in the minds of the fans. The cricketing experts seem just as excited and a proof of that was provided today by Michael Vaughan, who posted a picture of himself wearing the Rajasthan Royals (RR) jersey.
Rajasthan Royals have had a mixed start to this year’s tournament, having won 2 games out of the three matches they’ve played. Their lone defeat came at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), after which they went on to register consecutive wins against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RR is currently placed in the fifth position of the points table.

Michael Vaughan, who has been a regular commentator in the IPL, took to social media platform Instagram to post a picture of himself, looking all bright-eyed at the brink of the commencement of Wednesday’s match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Rajasthan side. He also shared the trivia of who the jersey actually belongs to and expressed his excitement about the upcoming match with a big grin on his face.
Captioning the snap as “Ready for the Match @rajasthanroyals .. The legend @benlaughlin55 has passed on his shirt .. @starsportsindia !!! #IPL #India”, Vaughan acknowledged the RR bowler, Ben Laughlin as the person who’d passed on the shirt to him. Laughlin, on his part, had been instrumental in RR’s victory against DD on April 11, where he picked up 2 crucial wickets while conceding just 20 runs.

Wednesday’s encounter between the RR and the KKR is bound to be an exciting one, with both teams being pumped up. KKR, in particular, won spectacularly against the Delhi franchise just a couple of days back and will look to carry on the momentum to their next games. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will be looking for a high-margin win to climb up the points table, while boosting their Net Run Rate (NRR).
