In the latest turn of events, former English cricketer and commentator Michael Vaughan has tested positive for COVID-19. He made the information regarding his health public through a tweet which stated that due to the same, he will have to delay his flight to Australia.

It was only in a recent while when Vaughan was stood down by BBC from their commentary panel for upcoming Ashes due to ‘editorial reasons.’ It was reported that Vaughan was involved in making racist remarks for Asian players during his stay at Yorkshire club in 2009. However, he was moving to Australia to be behind the mic for Fox Cricket for the upcoming Ashes.

“I’ve had to delay my flight to Australia until next week because of a positive Covid test, which is frustrating. But at least I’ll avoid the rain in Brisbane for a few days! And I’ll be no more under cooked than both teams when I get there.!! #Ashes” tweeted Michael Vaughan.

Michael Vaughan shares an update about him

After all the allegations made on Vaughan, he opened in detail and added that he always carried the image of being a team man. The former English skipper stated that the allegations put on him have hurt him deeply but he went on to apologize to Azeem Rafiq. Rafiq was one who alleged Vaughan of racist behavior.

“That hurts, because I’ve always felt that every single team that I have been involved in, the biggest praise I ever got as England captain for six years was that I was the kind of person that really galvanized the group, got the team working together as one. I wanted everyone in the dressing room to feel included,” Vaughan said earlier as quoted by BBC.

“I’m sorry for the hurt that he has gone through. Yorkshire Cricket Club, I believe is me, it has been my life whether I have been a player or not, I believe that once you have played for Yorkshire you are always a Yorkshire player and I am sorry for all the hurt that he has gone through,” Vaughan added.
