Pakistan cricket team had a dream start to the much awaited England Test series with a win over the hosts at Lord’s. They will be looking to carry on the winning momentum for the rest of the series, in what promises to be an exciting one.

Earlier ahead of the Test series, Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi made a statement saying that there is no talent in Pakistan. “We say there is a big talent in Pakistan, but sorry, there is no talent,” Afridi had said while talking toBBC Urdu in an interview a few days back.

When asked about the comments made by Afridi, the Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said that the team is not short of talent, it is just the matter of polish whatever they have.

Misbah led the team from the front scoring a hundred on his first appearance at Lord’s. There has been a lot of talk about Mohammad Amir making his comeback and Misbah along with the team management made sure that there is not much pressure on him.

Off-the-field, Amir was restricted to attend any press conference or any meeting with the media without the permission from the team management. On-the-field, Misbah used him in short spells and brought him on when the platform was set.

He was used from one end when Yasir Shah was creating pressure from the other end. Later on in the match, as soon as England were 7 down, Amir was brought in to wipe off the tail and he responded well with 2 wickets. Pakistan are currently leading the 4-match Test series 1-0. The second Test will commence in Manchester from July 22.
