Mitchell Marsh expected to feature in the game against Adelaide Strikers

Mitchell Marsh displayed some excellent form during the Ashes with both bat and ball. The 26-year old scored a fabulous 320 runs in 3 games at a sensational average of 106.67. Following an unfortunate strain to his quad, the all-rounder missed Perth Scorcher’s last three games in the Big Bash League.

With the South African tour around the corner, Marsh is surely willing to not take any risks. However, he certainly expects to be back in action for Perth Scorchers for a crucial encounter against the Adelaide Strikers. The clash with the Strikers will take place on Thursday and Marsh is hoping to shake off the injury to be fit for the game.

Hopefully I’ll get all the ticks from the physio

Earlier, Perth Scorchers coach Justin Langer had hinted a possible Marsh return in the game against the Strikers. Now, Mitchell Marsh himself confirmed that he was looking forward to the game in Thursday. However, the 26-year old Perth all-rounder will be awaiting the green signal from the physio prior to licking his lips in anticipation of the encounter.

“I’m hoping to be ready on Thursday. I was hoping to be right for this game but I wasn’t quite right. Hopefully over the next few days I’ll get all the ticks from the physios and be ready to go on Thursday.” Marsh told on Network 10.

Marsh’ inclusion huge ahead of the BBL finals series

Ashton Agar ,won the player of the match reward on Saturday for his exceptional bowling. The Scorchers’ spinner had figures of 2/14. He was glad to have teammate Marsh back ahead of an exciting contest against the Strikers. He hinted at Marsh replicating his splendid Ashes form into the BBL.

“That’s a huge inclusion if he’s back. He was in great form for the Australian Test team. I’m sure those basics translate into Twenty20 really well. He’s done it so many times in the Big Bash for us, so it’ll be such a handy addition heading into the finals series.”
