Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been hit by a stomach bug and is suffering from food poisoning after eating from a local hotel near his area in Pakistan. The veteran player was supposed to join Central Punjab’s squad in the ongoing competition National T20 Cup. But instead, his health has deteriorated by eating the food which was served in the hotel.

Hafeez has also complained to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the poor quality of food the restaurant is serving. With the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to begin from October 17 in Oman and UAE, Hafeez wanted to get some match practice by playing the T20 Cup. The all-rounder is in the 15-member squad for the global event and with only these sets of games left, the 38-year-old has to now wait till his stomach recovers.

According to a report published in ARY Sports, Hafeez’s condition is not looking great at the moment. Currently, five matches have been completed in the National T20 competition with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leading the points table with 2 wins from the two completed games. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan led the charge and put a stand worth 136 runs for the second wicket with Sahibzada Farhan.

Rizwan shed light on the team’s preparation before the tournament and also spoke about being aggressive to win games for his team. “Look we have been playing aggressive right from the beginning. We have been given the plan to play our shots freely but sometimes it doesn’t work out because of the match situation,” said Mohammad Rizwan according to Crickwick.

“We are trying to improve our strike rate keeping in view our World Cup preparations. Shaheen Afridi is among the top bowlers in the world. Shaheen is a captain’s delight as he gives wickets in the powerplay and stems the run-flow.
