India-Pakistan game has always been preceded by talks on either side. Be it the fans, the media or the cricketers themselves, everyone seems to have an opinion and want to weigh in their respective views. Social media has bridged the gap between celebrities and their fans and they get an opportunity to have a clear cut interaction with each other. Such was the occasion between Mohammad Kaif and a fellow Twitter user during a question-answer session.

Kaif started a segment called #AskKaif, which involved a number of questions regarding the Indian team and the upcoming Champions Trophy. One interesting question which caught his attention was with regard to the infamous incident after India won the NatWest series in 2002 where Sourav Ganguly removed his T-shirt and twirled it around.

The man who made that moment possible was asked whether Kohli should do the same if India beat Pakistan on Sunday to which Kaif replied: “Some things are better left unsaid, but I think Dada should hold that copyright”.

There were also questions regarding the Champions Trophy, on whether he still meets his former teammates Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag to which he replied that he still sees during the IPL and other functions.

He was also asked to describe Sachin’s blistering knock against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup. Kaif said he was batting like a man possessed and it was an honour to see such a knock up close.

The use of Twitter has helped the fans in getting to know their favourite players a whole lot better. There have been altercations in the past but incidents like these prove that there can be a fun and witty interaction as well. There have been a lot of chit-chat on the huge clash between old rivals but it will all be about the action on the field in a couple of days. India plays their first Champions Trophy match against Pakistan on Sunday.
