Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is currently living through the darkest phase of his life. His personal life has been out in the public for all the wrong reasons as a result also affecting his cricket career. While the world speculated about what happened between Shami and wife Hasin Jahan, he also found himself in a fix with allegations of match-fixing and corruption.

However, just as Shami heaved a sigh of relief after BCCI decided to award him with the B-Grade central contract that had earlier been withheld as the situation played out, he finds himself in yet another unfortunate incident where he was injured in a road accident. While traveling from Dehradun to Delhi, Shami sustained minor head injuries and got stitches on his head, according to ANI.

Hasin on the receiving end

After Hasin Jahan, who recently met with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, lodged a complaint of domestic violence, attempt to murder and adultery against the pacer, Shami was subjected to humiliation and judgment from fans and supporters. However, among the many allegations was one where Hasin Jahan hinted that the player was involved in match-fixing after taking money from a Pakistani woman Alishba on the insistence of England-based businessman Mohammed bhai.

However, the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit cleared him of corruption charges and offered him a contract. He was also cleared for playing for the Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming IPL. Having endured “mental torture” over the last 15 days, Shami has turned to the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy (ACA), run by Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran’s father, in Dehradun to rejuvenate himself mentally and physically.

The Kolkata Police had on March 9 registered an FIR based on her complaint, slapping non-bailable sections such as 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape that was leveled against his elder brother Hasib Ahmad) and 356 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Shami.
