India turned the corner like no other when they beat England by 151 runs in the second Test match at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. It was a heroic performance and at the forefront of this epic victory were the bowlers, who also contributed with the bat.

If Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were instrumental in forming an 89 run unbeaten stand for the ninth wicket, Mohammed Siraj made sure to dent the England middle-order by scalping crucial wickets and bundling them out for just 120 in the fourth innings. Throughout the Test match, the right-arm fast bowler was relentless in maintaining the pressure and ended up picking eight wickets in the game.

Fittingly, Siraj also took the last wicket and was seen jumping in joy to celebrate India’s come from behind win. He also took to social media to post some pictures of this incredible win and gave a fitting caption to the post. MAGIC is believing in yourself. If you can make that happen, you can make anything happen What a win, total team effort,”

As soon as the post went viral, fans started to flood his Instagram account with comments to congratulate the pacer’s stellar performance. Popular Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh too jumped into the bandwagon and commented on the post. The actor went a notch ahead and labelled him a ‘Phenom’. Indeed Siraj lived up to that tag in the Lord’s Test match by being aggressive and fiery with the ball.

Sunil Gavaskar lauds the performance of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane

Although the bowlers are basking on the Lord’s Test victory, two senior batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were crucial in laying the platform for other batters to flourish. India lost three wickets for not many runs, and it was up to the senior players to stand up and deliver. Pujara scored a gritty 45 and, Rahane scored 61. Sunil Gavaskar feels the two players’ contributions were invaluable in the end.

“They did (play a crucial role). Both of them are what you call low-profile players and not high-profile players. They don’t get the attention that some others do. It may be because of the style of play or whatever but they are invaluable to the team and, they brought all their experience to play,” Gavaskar told Sony Sports after India’s 151-run win in the Lord’s Test.
