Despite being ousted from the BCCI dressing room, former BCCI President Anurag Thakur might still be calling the shots inside the Indian dressing room. This particular thing seems to be bothering the players who were a part of the triumphant squad who defeated England very recently in all three formats. According to reports from the DNA, two senior Indian cricketers after the completion of the T20I series against England have said that team India’s manager Nishant Arora I leaking important information to Anurag Thakur.

“Is he (media manager) there to make things easy for us or to irritate us?” asked a senior member of Team India. Ever since Thakur was removed from his post by the Supreme Court on January 2 some of the Indian players told DNA that they speculated that Arora was reporting all the important dressing room talks to the former President.

“There is so much of mistrust between players about who is leaking our personal conversation to the outside world. Media manager’s job is to deal with the media but this guy (Arora) is all over the place… inside the dressing room, during team celebrations, in team discussions regarding playing eleven etc,” added the senior player.

According to information given to DNA by a team insider, a senior player had given Arora a “dressing down” during their tour to the US for the two Twenty20 matches against the Caribbean in Florida. He believed that Arora was trying to create a rift between him and the head coach Anil Kumble.

“It was also brought to our notice that his cousin brother, Ritesh Malik, was staying in the same team hotel in the US and was seen mingling around with players in restricted zones. It was only after Arora was confronted that his cousin left the hotel after three nights,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by the DNA.
