Moneyball9 Fantasy guide: Zimbabwe v India 2nd T20I
India was handed a shock defeat in the first ODI, MS Dhoni and his band of merry mefn will be hoping to right their wrongs from the first T20 international. The first T20 international saw the Indians heavily underestimate their opponents by fielding five players uncapped in the T20 international circuit. Apart from this, there is also expected to be a heavy overhaul in the bowling department with Barinder Sran and Dhawal Kulkarni expected to make a comeback into the scheme of things.
While we await this mouthwatering contest between the two at Harare, we first need to take a quick look at the Moneyball9 Fantasy guide.
That said, Let’s get to business now!
Zimbabwe v India
Batsmen
In spite of scoring a duck in the first match, KL Rahul makes the starting lineup for me as he is picked completely on ability. Manish Pandey’s 48 against the Zimbabweans in the first T20 makes him a definite pick in the Moneyball9 squad. Ambati Rayudu’s price-tag and as well as his solidity in the batting order is something one cannot miss out on. Moreover, it is also an insurance since Rayudu is guaranteed to score at least 20 odd runs. Malcolm Waller is also picked ahead of Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza. While part of the reason is the Moneyball9 price tag, the others being the consistency of Sibanda and Masakadza.
Wicket-keeper
The wicketkeeper’s slot is filled by batsman KL Rahul. Although Rahul isn’t a full-time wicketkeeper, Rahul’s fantastic batting form has seen him be picked consistently ahead of MS Dhoni, Peter Moor, and Richmond Mutumbami. Although he was out for a first-ball duck in the first ODI, Rahul will certainly be picked for the subsequent T20Is.
All-rounder
Elton Chigambura is, without the doubt, the best all-rounder in the context of the current T20Is. It is also a surprise that the price cap for Rishi Dhawan is as high as Rs. 8000. Although it is the same price tag for the former Zimbabwe skipper, it is certain that he will perform.
Bowlers
The bowlers include India’s ODI pair of Dhawal Kulkarni and Barinder Sran. While Jasprit Bumrah is the obvious option, Kulkarni and Sran are widely expected to make an impact on proceedings. It is also highly expected that the Indians switch out Jaydev Unadkat and Rishi Dhawan, who performed badly for the experienced duo of Sran and Kulkarni.
Flex Player
As in the previous match, Chamu Chibhabha is selected as the flex player. The all-rounder has the option of securing points either as a batsman or a bowler, thereby making him an invaluable selection.
