Soon after MS Dhoni was sacked as RPS captain for IPL 2017, he made the headlines once again when he was appointed the captain of Jharkhand team for Vijay Hazare Trophy. India’s most successful captain, who has no India assignments until the IPL, seems to be catching up on things he had been missing for a while. In a very friendly gesture, the former Indian skipper opted to travel by train with his Jharkhand teammates, instead of travelling in his hummer. He had posted a picture of him

He posted a picture of him travelling with his Jharkhand teammates in a train the team had caught for Kolkata, where Jharkhand will play its group matches at the Eden Gardens from March 25th. Jharkhand is scheduled to play its first game against Manish Pandey led Karnataka, followed by Chattisgarh on 26th. Last year around, Dhoni did participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy but didn’t lead the Jharkhand team.

Now, with the Champions Trophy coming up this year and team India having no limited overs fixture to prepare for the same, it only seems apt for MS Dhoni to get some match practice under his belt.

As per the quotes in Circle of Cricket, the team manager of Jharkhand side, Mr. PN Singh recently confirmed that Dhoni would be staying at a hotel near Eden Gardens. However, this hotel will be a different one from the usual where he is accustomed to staying while on national duty.

“Should the team decide to stay in Kalyani, some 51km away from Kolkata, where they play on Tuesday, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 23rd on Forbes’ list of the world’s best-paid athletes in 2015, will be at the CAB’s academy lodgings there,” quoted the team manager.

The players in the Jharkhand side are very excited to be sharing the dressing room with MSD. Virat Singh, one of the promising young talents from the lineup, noted that he feels honored to be sharing the dressing room with Dhoni. He wishes to learn the leadership trades from the former Indian skipper.

“I haven’t spent much time with him, am looking forward to doing that, There are no words to express what it means to be sharing a dressing room with MS Dhoni, I am not scared of him but I keep my distance… (However,) I hope I can speak to him about his leadership qualities and the ability to stay cool under pressure,” said Virat Singh.

MS arrived at the venue of Eden Gardens for a practice session. Many people flocked the stadium to watch MS practice. A very jovial MS was seen telling the media to go home and rest. “Ghar jaao, rest kaaro, (go home and rest),” marked Dhoni to the reporters.
