MS Dhoni celebrates wife Sakshi's 29th birthday

MS Dhoni has been in the news of late for his waning form in the shortest format of the game. Several critics have questioned the wicketkeeper batsman’s place in the playing XI, ahead of the likes of Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha. On the flip side, there are former players and some legends who have supported Dhoni, stating that the Indian team will need his experience going into the 2019 World Cup.

Dhoni was asked for his response to all the criticism and all he had to say was that everyone is entitled to their own views and they can express as they feel. “Everybody has views in life and it should be respected,” he said.

Since the series against the Kiwis, he’s been off the field and spending quality time at home with his family and his pets. He was recently seen training his dogs back at his home in Ranchi and also inaugurated his cricket academy in Dubai.

His wife Sakshi turned 29 today and the couple was together. A video appeared on one of Dhoni’s fan pages on Twitter where he helps her cut the cake and then feeds her the first piece.

Dhoni’s next assignment

The old warrior’s next assignment is the limited-overs leg of Sri Lanka’s tour of India that gets underway next month when India take on Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series, followed by a three-match T20I series. It is an important series for Dhoni not just because he would want to silence all the critics but since this is the only limited-overs action before the team heads to South Africa for the toughest tour of the season.
