There is absolutely no denying the fact that MS Dhoni is one of the most popular cricketers in the world right now. While his popularity in India is second to none, one can say that he is highly popular outside of the cricket-obsessed nation too. And nothing describes his popularity better than fans showing their support for him in Pakistan.

At present, the bilateral relation between India and Pakistan are at an all-time low. Both the countries have not played a bilateral series since 2012. Even when the relations between the two neighbours were promising, one could rarely see a fan supporting a player of the other country because of the history between the arch-rivals.

But such is Dhoni’s popularity that he has die-hard fans in Pakistan too. A photo of the Pakistani man is going viral on social media after he attended a Pakistan Super League (PSL) game with a jersey that had Dhoni’s name written on it. On the 22nd matchday of the PSL, an Islamabad United fan grabbed attention with his customised Pakistani national team jersey having Dhoni’s name and number on the back.

“Bhai in Stadium! Stadium was overcrowded. Full support for @IsbUnited Missing @msdhoni @PSL,” stated the tweet in which the man could be seen wearing the jersey.

Not the first time when the Pakistan fan has shown his love for MS Dhoni

This is the first time, this particular man from Pakistan has shown his love for MS Dhoni. The same fan had earlier made headlines with his custom jersey ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup. Shehzad-Ul-Hassan had assembled a custom made Pakistani jersey with Dhoni’s name and jersey engraved on the back of it.

The fan will soon see his beloved star in action when he leads Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season of IPL. Dhoni has not played a single competitive game since the end of the World Cup in July. Soon after the end of the tournament, he took an indefinite sabbatical from the game which will end on March 29 when he leads Super Kings in the IPL-opener. Super Kings will lock horns against defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first game of the season.
