Chennai Super Kings fans got a glimpse of MS Dhoni’s old self when the veteran batsman was warming up in the nets at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. It seems that despite staying away from competitive cricket since July 2019, when India lost to New Zealand in semi-finals in World Cup; Dhoni has not missed a beat when it comes to hitting the ball out of the park.
The CSK franchise has started their IPL 2020 practice with both of their big guns in Dhoni and Suresh Raina joining the new recruits in net sessions and practice. MS Dhoni is one of the biggest crowd-pullers for the BCCI in their marquee T20 tournament, which has set the blueprint for other countries to follow in their footsteps and then establish their own leagues.
MS Dhoni goes for 6,6,6,6,6 and fans go crazy
Meanwhile, the wicketkeeper-batsman was seen in his devastating best as he took upon the bowlers and deposited the ball over the ropes for a maximum five times in a row. Star Sports Tamil shared a video of Dhoni slamming it out of the ground on their official Twitter account with the caption in regional language.

Debate still continues on MS Dhoni’s international return and future, given that he has been on a self-imposed sabbatical for many months now. The previous selection panel has even mentioned that they have moved on from Dhoni and are focusing on giving Rishabh Pant as many chances as possible to replace the former skipper behind the stumps.
However, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri had mentioned that if MS Dhoni has a blasting IPL 13 with the bat and behind the stumps, he can very well stake a claim for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be played in Australia later this year. “There is an IPL coming. Uske baad tum Dekho. Everyone will know. (Then you’ll see. Everyone will know) He will know, selectors will know, the captain will know to see him, and more important than anything else he will know,” he was quoted by Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, N Srinivasan, the owner of the CSK franchise has cleared that MS Dhoni will be going back into the auction next year and the team management will retain him.
