MS Dhoni is faster than computer, says Shoaib Akhtar

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar recently beat everybody else to predict a Pakistan win over England in the ICC World Cup 2019, almost a week before the tournament started. Now, the 43-year-old has come to praise India wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni saying the latter is faster than even a computer. Akhtar’s compliments came for the former India captain’s impeccable takes on the playing conditions which he said are quicker than a machine’s analysis.

Dhoni had a decent beginning to his fourth and final World Cup on Wednesday when he gave a crucial company to centurion Rohit Sharma (122 not out) by scoring 34 runs off 46 balls at No.5. The duo added 74 runs for the fourth wicket to take India closer to South Africa’s score of 227 for 9. The Proteas did all they could to rattle India but the Rohit-Dhoni partnership stood like a rock to ensure that the Africans tasted their third successive loss in the tournament. “Dhoni is faster than a computer. Whatever a computer can say about playing on a certain wicket, I believe that MS Dhoni can do it faster,” he said.

Akhtar praises KL Rahul yet again

In a video post on his Twitter account, the Rawalpindi Express praised other Indian cricketers like KL Rahul. Reiterating his recent praise for the Indian batsman where he said that he will take over once the Virat Kohli era ends, the former Pakistan cricketer said he can follow in the footsteps of the current captain.

Rahul, who hit a hundred at No.4 against Bangladesh in a warm-up game recently, though managed only 26 off 42 balls in the match against South Africa. However, that hasn’t made Akhtar lose his admiration for the 27-year-old.

“I really like KL Rahul as a cricketer. I think KL Rahul can follow the footsteps of Virat Kohli and he can become a brilliant batsman in the future. When we met, I said that whenever you are not playing, release your anger in training. Do not lose focus and I believe you will become a big player in the future,” he said.

India will take on Australia in their second game in the World Cup on June 9 and play Pakistan on June 16.
