There is absolutely no denying that MS Dhoni is the biggest sportsperson in the country and it has become evident once again. The former India skipper’s name became one of the top trends on Twitter on Thursday (February 4) even though he did post any tweet or did anything special. It all started when several former and present Indian cricketers took to Twitter to raise their voice in support of the country against the outside noises.
The reactions from the cricketers came after American pop star Rihanna and environmentalist Greta Thunberg tweeted over the ongoing Farmers’ protest in India. The farmers have been protesting for more than two months over the three new Farm Bills. Reacting to the global propaganda, the Ministry of External Affairs started two hashtags #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and #IndiaTogether.
Unsurprisingly, there was an outrage over the same as several leaders, ministers, politicians, and others took to Twitter to lend their support for the country. They made it clear that India is more than capable of solving their internal matters on their own. The cricketers also did their bit. The likes of Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Anil Kumble, and others posted their messages with the same hashtags. MS Dhoni, however, is yet to post any tweet or message on the matter.
MS Dhoni starts trending despite not speaking on Farmers’ protest
The legendary cricketer, MS Dhoni, who is not very active on social media despite a huge following, has not talked about the ongoing protest yet. But despite his non-involvement over the issue, he became a much talked about topic on Twitter. A section of the fans has been criticizing the World Cup-winner over his silence on the matter that has become the biggest talking point in the country.
Another section, however, has defended Dhoni while pointing out his love for the country. On the other hand, some fans have been busy contemplating what his take on the entire matter would be. And the same queries led to a meme fest on Twitter as Dhoni started trending on the social media platform.
Here are some of the reactions:
