With five titles in the cabinet, Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Rohit Sharma-led side is studded with T20 stars who have been delivering regularly in the blue and golden jersey. In fact, there’s hardly any shortcoming in the side and their stellar record backs the claim. However, alongside their batting and bowling prowess, several MI members have also been blessed with a great sense of humour.
On July 1 (Thursday), the official Twitter account of Mumbai Indians shared a video in which several players can be seen revealing the funniest person in the MI dressing room. The clip was released to mark the occasion of International Joke Day. Several members of the franchise featured in the clip and they came up with different names.
Dashing Australian opener Chris Lynn and New Zealand pacer Adam Milne named Trent Boult as the funniest guy in the camp, hailing the Kiwi fast bowler’s sarcastic comments and animated narrations. “It would have to be Trent Boult, whether it is being serious or being sarcastic. I think we talk about positivity, he does that. It is never negative, it is always learning, sarcasm or having fun,” Chris Lynn said.
MI members also hailed Ishan Kishan’s humour
While Sourabh Tiwary called ‘comedian’ Anukul Roy the funniest, Trent Boult returned the favour to Milne, suggesting the Kiwi speedsters makes him smile whenever he’s around. Notably, dashing Indian batsman Ishan Kishan also emerged a popular pick in this exercise. Rahul Chahar, Jayant Yadav, and Suryakumar Yadav hailed the southpaw’s humour.
“I think it has to be Ishan Kishan only. Even after the game, if it didn’t go our way he’s the guy who I like to be with at that time,” Suryakumar said. “It’s difficult to describe Ishan Kishan in an anecdote. I think the situational things that he does. He’s just witty,” Jayant Yadav mentioned.

Meanwhile, all the MI players will reunite when IPL 2021 resumes in September in UAE. At the time of season suspension, the defending champions were fourth in the team standings with four victories in seven games. Hence, they would like to continue their sensational run to lift the third title on the trot.
