Mustafizur Rahman wants to be remembered as a good human being if not a great cricketer

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has not enjoyed a good time in the tenth season of the Indian Premier League. He got to feature in only one match this year, which was against two-time champions Mumbai Indians. Mustafizur bowled two overs in that match and went for as many as 34 runs in only 2 overs.

Mustafizur, however, bowled excellently last year in the Indian Premier League and played a big role in helping his franchise win the trophy for the first time. Due to his wonderful performance last year he has been one of those players retained by the Sunriser’s Hyderabad.

The player who is looking to make comeback into the Hyderabad playing XI said that he never lets success get the better of him. He is more focused on delivering on the pitch and helping his team win all the matches.

The 21-year-old quoted “I never let success get into my head. You guys keep asking me about being something big, great talent and so on… I am unfazed,” the 21-year-old was quoted as saying by the daily star.net

He was also modest enough and told that he wants to be remembered as a great human being if not a great cricketer. “If I cannot become a great cricketer, I will at least want to be remembered as a good human being”

In last year’s World T20 Mustafizur caught the New Zealand batsmen clueless with his off-cutters in a Super 10 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The player returned with impressive figures of 5/22 after the match and the effort was much appreciated by the cricketing world.

Mustafizur also pointed out that it is very important for a bowler to have variations in order to be successful in the shortest version of the game.

“In this format of the game (T20), you need variations. Every bowler will have his stock ball. But you need to vary your deliveries in order to get success”
