Netizens show huge interest on India v Pakistan CT 2017 clash

India mauled Pakistan by 124 runs (DLS) in their first Champions Trophy encounter in Birmingham. The much-awaited game of the tournament was a resounding success. It was a festival atmosphere at the venue. The attendance at the stadium was to the brim at 24,156. It obliterated previous records and it will remain so if another India-Pakistan big ticket match happens at the venue.

The survey showed how pronounced India-Pakistan cricketing rivalry is. Fans from European countries accounted for the most interactions outside India. Fans from Germany, England and other cricket loving countries of Europe put in their reactions on Rooter. Middle East which had mostly Pakistani fans also came into the picture with a sizeable no of conversations.

Meanwhile in India, the online battle was fierce. Delhi recorded 12% of the messages. Being close to the border the hype about the encounter was on a high.  The bulk came from Maharashtra with 13.21 %. The spike in the conversations were recorded when India went ballistic with the bat and piled up a mammoth 319 runs. Pakistan was swept away, with Yuvraj, Kohli and Hardik opening the flood gate of runs.

A total of 58 % of the messages were generated during this period. Fans gunned for India’s victory after the mammoth piling of runs. The reactions turned out to be a one-sided affair as Indian fans were sure of India’s victory. The rains may have halted the proceedings of the match on the field but the interactions kept flowing online.
