Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, global cricket has come to standstill. At first, the effect was seen when the 1st ODI between Australia and New Zealand in Sydney earlier this month was played behind the closed doors. It was done to make sure that mass gatherings don’t occur. But after the conclusion of the game, the series was entirely called off with a growing number of cases due to the virus.

Since then, players of the New Zealand and Australian Cricket team have gone into self-isolation. While the entire world is trying to keep themselves self-isolated at their homes, things could get a little bit boring during this quarantine time. Well, one can also discover his/her hidden talents during this period. At least for the New Zealand cricketer, Ish Sodhi something similar happened.

Ish Sodhi’s rap song during quarantine time will surely lift your mood

The blackcaps spinner who has been under self-isolation since the time the team has returned back home decided to make a rap song. The video uploaded by Rajasthan Royals’ official Twitter handle saw Ish Sodhi performing an entire rap song of 1 minute 25 seconds. The caption of the video was, “Can’t go to a concert? @ish_sodhi brings the concert to you! Stay safe and stay indoors.#HallaBol|#RoyalsFamily”

India-born New Zealander Sodhi can be seen performing his rap in the video wearing a mask. The lines of the song go like, “Coronavirus, please don’t get me today. Coronavirus, I still got cricket to play. I know what is Covid-19, I am sick of hearing your name on my TV screen. Isolate with me, it’s not what it may seem. Avoid the 6 symptoms of Covid-19 Covid, what’s the matter with you? I heard you walk around the skies as the bad**s flu.”

Ish Sodhi has been associated with the Royals since the 2018 edition when he joined the team as a foreign player. He was there with the side even in the last season. But, he was released by the franchise ahead of the auction this season. But the association did not end as he was appointed the spin-bowling consultant and operational executive of Rajasthan Royals for the 2020 IPL.

A few eyebrows were raised when Ish Sodhi was given the role of the spin bowling consultant in this side while he hasn’t yet announced his retirement from international cricket. In fact, he’s just 27 years old, making him a lot younger for a post like that in the cash-rich league.
